Food Recall in Australia

In the past month, there has been a food recall made around Australia – actually make that two. We are going to recap two of these stories.

Ikea Food Recall

A month ago, Ikea recalled two types of their dark chocolate after there were traces of undeclared allergens in the product – milk and hazelnuts. The products are the 100g packets of CHOKLAD MÖRK 60% and CHOKLAD MÖRK 70% – dark chocolate sold in IKEA stores across Australia, saying products labelled up to Best Before: 2017.04.02. Customers are warned to be careful about this product, especially those that have these allergies.

Hot Dog Bun Food Recall

A bit over a week ago, supermarket chain Aldi announced they were recalling their hot dog rolls. The six-pack Bakers Life Hot Dog Rolls with a best before of July 14 are being recalled in New South Wales and Canberra. This announcement was made after metal shavings were found in the buns. Aldi has urged customers to return the product to the place of purchase for a full cash refund. For those concerned, feel free to gt more information from the ALDI Food Recall Hotline on 1800 709 993 and www.foodstandards.gov.au/recalls for Australian food recall information.
