Sushi With A Side Of Salmonella in New Mexico, USA

After six confirmed cases reported from the 4th of April to the 1st of May, the New Mexico Department

of Health have confirmed that salmonella is on the move! 5 out of the 6 victims came in contact with raw fish in sushi. The City of Albuquerque Environmental Health Department and the New Mexico Environment Department are investigating possible exposures linked to sushi.

Brits Vs. Chicken

It is the British’s turn for Food Safety Week. This year, their focus is to put forth the ‘Chicken Challenge’ to the public. The aim is to educate consumers about campylobacter (a bacteria found on raw poultry) and how it affects around a third of the populace in the UK.

Cholera Fear Was ONLY Food Poisoning in Nakuru

After being struck heavily by cholera, when 25 students showed severe abdominal pain and diarrhoea, many feared the worst. However, after getting tested at the hospital, the results came back to be just food poisoning – only in this situation will I be able to say that!
