Many Australians love to shop at the Aldi supermarkets. It is cheaper and they have some crazy sales. But they just announced that one of their beloved items is being recalled. Which item is it and what s the cause?
The popular item is Berg Smallgoods’ American Style Skinless Hot Dogs 375g. This announcement was made by the New South Wales Food Authority. Consumers should not eat the product and return it. The recall was implemented after there were concerns of potential microbial contamination and presence of bone fragments. The product of concern has the Use By dates up to and including 28/01/2018. This product is available in New South Wales, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
Aldi is offering full cash refund on the products. They are urging customers to return the product to the place of purchase.
Berg products has not had a good track record in terms of recalled products. In 2014, Berg Strassburg and skinless hotdogs were recalled from all stores due to listeria. While in 2016, metal shaving were found in hot dog buns.
