100 Food Poisoning Victims in Victoria
From an event held on Wednesday 19th of November to Friday 21st of November at the Sandown Park Greyhound Racing Club. The function led to 100 attendees vomiting and having diarrhoea after eating the food served at the function.
Mr Bram Alexander, the spokesperson for the Department of Human Services are currently investigating the situation and samples are being tested to determine the cause of the foodborne illness – whether it’s viral or bacterial.
Victims did not show symptoms until 24 to 36 hours after consuming the food.
Japanese Tourist Fall Victim to Food Poisoning
Dozens of Japanese tourist were struck with the same illness on their way to the Blue Mountains last month. They were all on the same bus as they began to vomit and suffered from diarrhoea. The bus had stopped at Brisbane earlier for a meal.
initially, the first sick tourist was quarantined in the bathroom of Murray coach the group were travelling in, a witness told the website before more of the passengers began to fall ill.
An ambulance was rushed to the scene where victims were treated instantly. Medics assessed the victim’s blood pressure and looked for any other symptoms. They also wore masks and other protective gear they checked people one by one by the side of the road before transporting some of them in ambulances.
