Food Safety Week 2015

 

Today marks the second last day to Australia’s 2015 Food Safety Week. The theme this year was ‘Did you know? (busting the food safety myths). So what does that entail?

A Bit Of History Of Food Safety Week

Food Safety Week is organised by the Food Safety Information Council. The Food Safety Information Council is a charity and also Australia’s leading disseminator of consumer-targeted food safety information which aims to address the estimated 4.1 million cases of food poisoning in Australia each year. By holding events such as Food Safety Week, they hope to educate consumers and distributors about the proper food safety methods one should adopt.

Since 2002, a Food Safety Week has been held by the Food Safety Information Council.

The 2015 Food Safety Week

As mentioned, this year’s Food Safety Week focus is on Did you know? (busting the food safety myths). By promoting the proper methods of food safety and clarifying the best ways to keep a good standard on food safety. Check out their media release for the week here.
