Food Labelling Gets Back Up

In the past few years, food labelling has been a major topic of discussion around Australia. From understanding the various wording used on food packaging to redesigning the logo for easier understanding from the consumers, many businesses have tried to adopt better branding for their product. Now with more support, food labels might just become something that is easily understood.

Recently, GS1 Australia and the Australian Made Campaign have announced their collaboration to help brand owners in the Food and Grocery sector deliver the new Country of Origin Labelling (CoOL) information to consumers and retailers. What does this mean? It means that these two companies will support the new food labelling rules and build a database so that all food products made and grown in Australia will capture the brand owner. The new food label legislation will begin rolling out from the 1st of July 2016.

Having more companies like this to support the legislative changes will help food businesses have a better understanding. Do you need to look more seriously into the changes? Are you ready for the new food labelling legislation?
