What Brand of Apple Pies Have Been Recalled?

Another food recall has been made and this time it involves apple pies. The recall was made late yesterday afternoon.

The New South Wales Food Authority made a national recall has been issued for Nanna’s family apple pies. The product can be found at Coles, Woolworths, IGA, Foodlands and other independent supermarkets.

All 600-gram apple pies with a best-before date of October 21, 2020 and October 22, 2020, are being recalled. This is because there is a potential presence of glass in the Nanna’s family apple pie.

It said glass could have found its way into the pies because of “an equipment failure with a supplier”. Since this discover, the company “has initiated a recall of the affected batches as a precautionary measure”. Consumers are advised not to eat any of the pies and to return them to the place they were purchased to get a full refund.

After the huge food safety scandal caused by Nanna’s frozen mixed berries in 2015 (click here for the story), this newest scandal will cause a ripple in the company. Just as consumer confidence is building again, this may cause another rupture in the consumer trust.
